Rajasthan Diggi Anudan Yojana for Farmers

• The Rajasthan government has initiated the “Diggi Anudan Yojana” to provide financial assistance to farmers for constructing water storage pits (“diggi”) in their fields.
• Under this scheme, farmers in the state will receive a subsidy of 75% to 85% for building diggis, enabling them to enhance irrigation on their fields.
• Small and marginal farmers will be eligible for a subsidy of 75% or an assistance amount of up to 3.4 lakhs rupees, making it more affordable for them to construct diggis.
• Similarly, farmers from the general category will receive a 75% subsidy or financial assistance of up to 3 lakhs rupees to support diggi construction.
• The financial assistance provided under this scheme will significantly reduce the cost of water expenditure for irrigation, making barren land arable once again.
• To participate in this scheme, farmers will need to invest their own capital initially for diggi construction. After completing the construction, they can apply for the benefits of the scheme within 30 days.
